10 Questions
1. What would you most like to change about yourself?
I have a hard time saying no to things, and end up over-committing. Although, to be honest, often saying “yes” has led to some of the greatest adventures of my life! So, ultimately I wouldn’t change anything.
2. What is your theme song?
That’s a good one. I’m going to have to go with “Some Nights” by Fun. The music, apart from the lyrics, is really full of life and makes you HAVE to dance. I’m all for anything you can dance to.
As for the lyrics, I’m not going to pretend I know exactly what they mean, but there are a couple things I relate to. For me the song is about letting things go, remembering those you’ve lost, and ultimately just being unsure of who you are and where you’re headed. I’m definitely unsure what I stand for at this point. This song is often playing in my head.
3. What are you passionate about?
I’m passionate about people. I love to hear people’s stories and to learn from them. I’m passionate about experience and trying hard to take everything in. More specifically, I’m passionate about learning from other cultures around the world, dancing for social change, being an active citizen, and helping/learning from others through service work.
4.What generation do you wish you had been a part of?
60s without a doubt. America was changing drastically during that time and I would have loved to have been a part of it. Especially during a period when many minorities were beginning to find their voice. And maybe I could meet my favorite president… Lyndon Johnson.
5.What was your favorite childhood toy?
My American Girl Doll, Samantha. But that’s the history nerd in me. I loved reading the books that went along with the doll and told her story as a kid in the early 20th century.
6. What is your favorite household chore?
Organizing and cleaning. Anything. Living room, kitchen, bedroom, office. Any chore but the dishes and the trash.
7.Do you twitter?
Not very well. But feel free to follow me @rachelynn17
8. Any goals?
Oh so many. Short term goals and long term. Let’s see…a constant goal for me is to live life to the fullest. This year I’m going to try to do that with less stress.
9.What is your favorite time of year?
The fall. It’s just one of the most beautiful seasons, especially in New England. The colors are vibrant and everything’s changing. Plus it has the most comfortable weather I think.
10. What is your favorite day?
Saturday. It always feels like an open page waiting to be filled.
