Hawaii

Free Hula Show at Sunset

The Hyatt Regency, along Kalakaua Avenue in Waikiki, sponsors a free hula show every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (if the weather is good, which it nearly always is) at 6:30. The show lasts about an hour and features many different hula halau (schools) as well as other hula groups. The show happens just as the sun is setting on the ocean with live music and lots of seating on the grass for everyone to enjoy! It’s located right by the Duke Kahanamoku Statue on the beach. If you’re staying at any of the major Waikiki Hotels or Hostels it is just a short walk down the main stretch.

Tips:

  • Bring a blanket or beach mat to sit on for a little more comfortable seating on the grass.
  • Arrive a 5-10 minutes early for the best seating.
  • Make sure to look behind you as the sun is setting! Bring your camera!

Where: 2424 Kalakaua Ave, Waikiki, HI by the Duke Kahanamoku Statue

When: 6:30 Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday (weather permitting)

Cost: Free!

Safe Travels!
