Flying out of Boston to New Orleans this morning from Women’s Rebuild Week with the St. Bernard Project! So excited to see these lovely ladies later today and start rebuilding tomorrow.
On the agenda?
- Do some good-old-fashioned manual labor.
- Research the history of tourism in New Orleans in the public libraries Special Collections.
- Celebrate my 21st.
It’s going to be a great week!
Thanks for letting me camp out in your blog for a little while today. I had a great time and tried to leave my campsite as good as when I arrived. I’ll be back!
Stop by anytime!! I’m glad you enjoyed some of my NOLA posts. Plus, I’m always a fan of a good camping metaphor 🙂
I have many relatives in the New Orleans area — New Orleans proper, Chalmette, and Slidell. My mom lived there for 40 years but evacuated to Utah before Katrina. She never went back. All my relatives lost their homes in Katrina.
Wow, that’s awful. Certainly one of the most significant parts of my trips there has been hearing the stories from individuals who dealt with Katrina. It was a truly horrible disaster that affected so many. I wish your family all the best.
