The St. Leonard Peace Garden is one of my all time favorite spots in the North End. The garden leads up to St. Leonard Church which is the oldest Roman Catholic Church in New England (founded by Italian immigrants). On either side of the path leading up to the church are religious statues. I’m not Roman Catholic myself, but I’ve always found this park to be very peaceful and it’s certainly full of history. In the midst of the crowded, noisy North End, this garden is an oasis in the desert.
